For the better part of 2011 one feud has defined UWE...Fuel Vs. Cross.
We all know the story, these two began as best friends, Fuel being the actual man to discover Cross and bring him to UWE.
Their friendship abruptly ended as Cross' ego and power position with UWE's Commission drove him to abuse his status as champion. Fuel confronted his friend and thus began the most intensely personal rivalry in UWE's history.
Cross would first defend his championship against Fuel on April 30. This wrestling clinic ended in UWE's first 30 minute time limit draw.
Months and many attacks later, Cross would defend his championship against Fuel in the main event of UWE's biggest show of the year...Showdown. October 22 at Showdown II Fuel defeated Jon Cross in UWE's first Ladder Match becoming the new UWE Champion and finally removing the Championship from The Commisson's grasp.
7 days later, Cross cashed in his auto-rematch clause and challenged Fuel, now UWE Champion, to a match in Poteau, Oklahoma. Fuel would, once again, be victorious, nailing Cross with his famous Superkick for the win.
November 19, 2011 saw the end of this amazing feud. The event was one of UWE's most popular, Ring War.
Dubbed "The Final Encounter," Cross and Fuel agreed to have one final match for the UWE Championship. Both men agreed that after this match neither could challenge the other as long as they are champion. Ever.
Cross entered the match with a much different attitude. He shocked everyone by sending his Commission brothers to the locker room, declaring he wanted to prove he could defeat Fuel man to man. This final epic encounter would end with Cross springboarding into the ring and being met with a Fuel Superkick in mid-air. Fuel would collapse onto Cross and win with a decisive pinfall, ending their rivalry forever.
The feud that has defined UWE for nearly a year is over. Fuel is the UWE Champion. What new challengers await him? Cross is now out of the title picture as long as Fuel is champion. What does 2012 have in store for Jon Cross? ...what does Cross have in store for 2012.....stay tuned.
